Samsung is often overlooked when you think of top grade Electronics with many people looking to Phillips, Sony or even Toshiba before they would by a Samsung product, but with the High Definition products they are putting out these days you cannot look past Samsung because of they great medium prices on top grade products.

Samsung has come out with there new up to date High Definition Television models and they are most definitely top of the line when you look at the product, price and overall flexibility of these new televisions. The Samsung LN52A860 Ultra-thin 52" 1080p LCD HDTV with 120Hz refresh rate is a great priced product as well. I have had this Samsung LN52A860 TV for 4 days so far, and I can't say enough positive about things about it. The set up was easy, and the amount of control you have for the picture settings is very in depth.The blue TOC (Touch of Color) is only just noticeable, it really looks black/graphite grey unless you look very closely.

The extra warranty of the Samsung LN52A860 (18 months instead of 12 months for the 850) is a nice perk.The good news is that the 'halo effect' that some owners of the 750 have fussed about is non-existent on the Samsung LN52A860.

I also love the spin stand because I did not wall mount this Samsung LN52A860 TV even though it is exceptionally thin. The picture show is stunning, and there are so many functions and features that I just have notgone through all of them yet.

Plugged in my HD cable box and new Blu-ray player via HDMI and everything has worked perfectly so far. On the flip side, there is a lag if you are using the little circle dial on the remote. Better off just clicking up, down, left, or right instead of spinning the dial around and waiting for the Samsung LN52A860 TV to react.

I don't have surround sound yet, but the Samsung LN52A860 TV speakers aren't too bad. Hard to rave about fake surround sound from tiny TV speakers, but that's expected. I didn't want a red or blue tv in my living room. With out getting technical this is a great set, cheaper than SONY and highly rated. You won't be dissapointed, I am so delighted with my purchase. Super thin and light weight. This unit has a very small bezel around it for a very clean look.

Overall, I would recommend this Samsung LN52A860 52" 1080p LCD HDTV without hesitation this to anyone looking for a new 1080p LCD TV. I am so impressed with this tv.

If you don't know what an HD radio is, here's the simple explanation. It's digital radio versus the radio you're listening to today -- which is analog. The advantages of digital radio are many. The two most important are that it produces much better sound than conventional radio. In fact, if you listen to an AM station being broadcast in digital HD, you may think you're listening to an FM station -- that's how clear and static-free the sound is. And listening to HD FM is almost as good as listening to a CD.

The second important advantage of digital HD radio, is that it allows broadcasters to pack more than one channel on the same frequency. These "other" channels are called HD2 channels. As an example of this, we have an FM station in my city that broadcasts easy listening music on its HD1 channel (or primary frequency) and all blues on its HD2 channel.

A word of warning

I did find some shortcomings in the insignia HD Radio and DVD Player. First, is the users guide. It is fairly helpful, but lacking in certain areas. For example, the instructions for using an MP3 device are missing several important steps. And finding HD2 channels with this unit is more difficult than other units I have experienced. You can set the unit to scan for just HD channels, but you have to look carefully to see when you are on an HD2 channel and then make note of the frequency so that you can come back later to establish a preset. Finally, creating presets is not an easy task. It's a three step process, and you have to have fairly quick fingers to do it correctly.

However, in summation, I cannot think of any other compact system that packs so much versatility in a cabinet measuring just 6.5" x 8.25" x 6.5" and costs less than $150. If you're interested in this unit, do take note of the fact that Insignia is a house brand of Best Buy and available only through the Best Buy website.

6 Reasons Why You Should Not Choose LabelFlash Or LightScribe

Label Flash and Light Scribe are both disc labeling technologies that lets you imprint some graphics on a disc. While it may sound cool that you can "burn" images on your disc with your computer, there are drawbacks that certainly make that thought vanish with a blink.

First and foremost, these technologies doesn't come cheap. It's the exact opposite, they are very expensive. You have to purchase a Light Scribe or Label Flash compatible blank disc which is 75% more expensive than normal blank disc. Imagine, for buying every 100 Light Scribe or Label Flash compatible blank disc, you can get 175 normal blank disc.

Secondly, you have to buy the Light Scribe or Label Flash compatible optical drive(CD/DVD-ROM) too. Though I don't know how much they cost now, but it is surely more expensive than normal optical drive. Combined the cost of blank disc and optical drive together, they are really really expensive.

Third, not all software supports these technologies, that's another reason you have to fork out money to buy the software too. Freeware such as CD BurnerXP does not support both the Label Flash and Light Scribe, but shareware such as Nero supports them both.

Fourth, you have to wait for the images to be "imprint" on the discs. The drive don't burn and imprint the images at the same time. You have to do one at a time and well, the "imprint" time is not as fast at burning. Light Scribe and Label Flash have to use at least 20 minutes and 7 minutes respectively to finish their imprint.

Fifth, the images that imprinted on the disc are not colorful as rainbow. Heck, they can't even print out more than 1 color. You can only look at the disc to admire the design rather then the color. And when you put the disc into your computer, I highly doubtful you can look at the design.

Finally, you have to store the disc away from extreme heat, humidity and direct sunlight. As if that is not enough, you have make sure your hand is very clean and free of grease to prevent the smearing of your image. This only applies for Light Scribe disc.

The result has been a format war that has scared many would be consumers away from buying players of either format because of fear of being left with the losing technology. OK, here's the deal: If you want to build a quality stereo system, SOUND DEADENING IS NOT OPTIONAL; IT IS MANDATORY.

Why is that?

Let me ask you a question: Do you want to hear music, or road noise? Do you want your license plate to be quiet, or rattle when the bass hits? Do you want to hear your tires, or do you want to hear MUSIC?

I know I want to hear the music, and as such, I never do a real car stereo installation without using sound deadening material.

So, with all of that said, let's take a closer look at sound deadening.

Sound deadening comes in many forms, but the two main types are spray on, and matting.

Spray on deadening comes in either an aerosol spray paint can or in a large bucket. The aerosol can is great for small jobs, but if you plan to go crazy with the deadening, you'll want to buy it in bulk. When you buy it in bulk, you'll also need a nozzle of some sort. There is about a 40 second delay when starting, but after that I have never noticed a "skip". Best of all, the NF-340 remembers the exact location of the book when I turn it back on, so I don't have to re-listen to sections. CD and MP3 audio books both play flawlessly in the NF-340. I should have purchased Sony in the first place.
