In an environment with huge spaces, it is important to have label printers that are portable and hence can be carried from one place to another so that labeling can be done on the spot. Such portable label printers often work on mechanical principles so that they do not need electricity and thus can work anywhere. However, there are many portable printers available today that work on electricity, and have a small or large battery inside that is powered and charged by electricity and can often work for hours together.

There are also label printers that process labels that are easy to apply on any surface, known as crack and peel labels. Some of them offer high resolution bar code printing at the same time.
There is thus a portable label printer for every need and condition. One only needs to search, either in the local stores or the internet for the printer that fits ones requirements. Most of these printers are quite cheap and can easily fit into one's budget.
